Chicken Haleem is a popular dish prepared during the month of Ramzan. There are different varieties of Haleems.Chicken Haleem,Mutton Haleem,Fish Haleem,Beef Haleem,Vegetable Haleem.
I like chicken Haleem very much. Pista house Haleem and Shah Ghouse Haleem are very famous here in Hyderabad. My husband brings Pista house Haleem on every alternate day during Ramadan. Usually Haleem is served as a snack item in IFTAR. In the evening, People break their fasts , by taking dates ,fruits and Haleem. I’m not sure that every Muslim person eats Haleem after fasting but I’m 100% sure that every non-muslim( non-vegetarian) will definitely eat Haleem. Their fasting recipe is our feasting recipe. I wish, I could celebrate 70 more Ramzans to have this wonderful dish.
They start cooking haleem in the morning. It takes around 7-8 hours for them to finish it up. They do a lot of hard work to cook Haleem and they sell it for very reasonable price.
For this recipe I used broken wheat, you can also use wheat. But you need to soak them for 3-4 hours before you cook. I used red chilli powder but you can use green chillies instead. It seems very difficult to cook this recipe
because of many ingredients. but,at home you can prepare very easily. I didn’t follow the traditional way of cooking this recipe , but I can promise you the taste. it turned out fantastic. it was 100% like Authentic Haleem.
EID MUBARAK to all Muslim brothers and sisters around the world
