Pineapple is available throughout the year.almost everyone loves pineapple but the only problem is, removing the skin.we hesitate to buy sometimes.especially on busy days.nowadays we find peeled pineapple everywhere.but we need to use it immediately as the pineapple ferments very quickly(even when stored in the refrigerator).anyway, we need to make this wonderful fruit as a part of our regular diet as it has many nutritional values.it is a rich source of vitamin C.it consists of an enzyme named Bromelain which has many health benefits.

the antioxidants present in the pineapple help us boost the immune system, keeps us young, detoxifies the body and has many more health benefits.but we need to take it in a healthy way.I suggest not to use the sugar.we can take it without sugar but not the children.you can add some dates syrup or honey.I hope you try and enjoy this healthy drink.

Ingredients
  • 150 grams pineapple pieces
  • 300 ml water
  • 1 tbsp strawberry/any fruit crush
  • 2 to 4 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup assorted fruits chopped
  • 6 to 7 ice cubes
Instructions
  1. peel off the skin and cut the pineapple into small pieces

  2. put them in a juicer and make juice adding sugar and water

  3. line the bottom of a glass with strawberry crush

  4. add ice cubes and pour the juice

  5. add assorted fruits and serve chilled

Grape Soda Recipe-Refreshing Summer Drink Grape Juice

The hot weather in summer makes us lose appetite.we usually like to have fluids rather than heavy solid foods.This grape soda is extremely super good refreshing summer drink.we can prepare it at once and store in the refrigerator and use when required.

for this you need to take seedless grapes and boil them along with sugar for 15 to 20 minutes or until the grapes turn soft and mushy.later you need to prepare juice and store in a clean and dry airtight container.you can dilute this concentrated juice with water or with soda water.the sweetness may reduce after diluting.you can add a little sugar if required.but I suggest not to use sugar.

the grape juice after storing for 15 days ferments and tastes exactly like wine.it ferments though it’s stored in the refrigerator.This Recipe is given a local Magazine called “Annadaata”.Annadaata means farmer.this monthly magazine is all about farming and new farming techniques.Grape Wine Recipe is given in the last month’s edition.I hope you try and enjoy this super cool summer drink.

Ingredients
For Grape Juice
  • 300 grams grapes seedless
  • 400 ml water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 lemon
For Grape Soda
  • 250 ml soda water
  • lemon wedge
  • ½ sprig mint leaves
  • 5 to 6 Ice Cubes
Instructions
Making Grape Juice
  1. Pour water into a saucepan.

  2. Add seedless grapes and bring to a boil.
  3. When the water starts to boil. Add sugar and mix well.
  4. Add lemon juice to prevent the sugar from caramelizing.
  5. Boil for 15 to 20 minutes and turn off the flame.
  6. Leave until it cools down to room temperature.
  7. Later make them into juice and transfer it into a clean & dry jar, store in the refrigerator.
Making Grape Soda
  1. Take Ice Cubes into a glass.
  2. Add ¼ cup Grape Juice.
  3. Pour soda water.put a lemon wedge and a mint sprig and serve chilled.

Paanakam is a healthy summer drink made with Jaggery/Gud/Bellam.this drink is usually prepared on Sri Rama Navami Festival and also when performing some rituals.Jaggery is very good for health.it helps in balancing the body temperature during summer.every ingredient in this drink has medicinal values.In my childhood, my father used to prepare Panakam for us.I like it very much.he knew only two recipes one is Omelette and the other one is Panakam.

chilled Panakam tastes amazing.you can add a little more jaggery to this Panakam and pour into the ice pop molds and freeze them.children would definitely like them.it’s 100 % better than the artificially flavored and colored popsicles.I hope you try and enjoy this healthy drink.

Ingredients
  • 150 grams Jaggery/Bellam
  • 1 liter water
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds/saunf powder
  • 1 lemon
  • 10 ice cubes(optional)
Instructions
  1. take the grated Jaggery into a mixing bowl.
  2. add 1 liter of water and mix until the jaggery melts.
  3. add cardamom powder, dry ginger powder, pepper powder, fennel seeds powder, lemon juice and combine well.
  4. transfer the juice into another bowl through a strainer.
  5. serve chilled or serve immediately adding some ice cubes and Tulsi or Mint leaves.

Grape mocktail– this refreshing drink is prepared with farm fresh red grapes,blueberry juice,lemon juice and ginger.this can be customized according to your taste.blueberry juice can be replaced by cranberry or lichi juice.

we found farm fresh red grapes on the way to home from vegetable market. I bought them immediately and made this mocktail. this really tastes good after a few couple of hours.keep refrigerated until then.

Ingredients
  • red grapes – 300 grams
  • water – 700 ml
  • lemon juice – 1 lemon
  • blueberry juice – 2 tbsp
  • pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
  • ginger -2 (1 inch slices)
  • sugar – 1/3 cup
  • ice cubes – 4(per serving)
  • black salt – a pinch
Instructions
Preparing grape mocktail
  1. soak the grapes in salt water for 5-10 minutes.
  2. rinse them clean.
  3. put them in a juicer jar,add ginger slices,1/3 cup of sugar.
  4. pour 700 ml of water and run the mixer for 2-3 minutes on high-speed.
  5. transfer the juice into a bowl,add blueberry juice,lemon juice and a pinch of pepper powder.
  6. mix well and chill for a couple of hours.
Serving
  1. fill the serving glass with ice cubes.
  2. pour the grape juice.
  3. add a pinch of black salt.
  4. garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve.

Ingredients
  • Yogurt – 500 grams
  • chilled water – 500ml
  • chopped coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
  • chopped curry leaves – 2 sprigs
  • chopped green chilli – 1
  • mint leaves – 1 sprig
  • chopped ginger – 1 tsp
  • lemon – 1
  • salt – as needed
  • dry roasted jeera powder – 1/2 tsp
  • dry roasted fenugreek/methi powder – 1/4 tsp
  • ice cubes – optional
Instructions
  1. take yogurt into a large deep bowl.
  2. mix yogurt with hand blender until smooth and creamy.
  3. add water and churn for 2-3 minutes.
  4. add chopped coriander leaves,curry leaves,mint leaves,green chilli,ginger,jeera/cumin powder,fenugreek/methi powder and salt.
  5. squeeze a lemon.
  6. churn the buttermilk for about 3-5 minutes.
  7. use a strainer to separate the herbs and spices from the buttermilk.
  8. add ice cubes and serve chilled.
