Ingredients
For Marination
  • 650 grams chicken(thigh pieces)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 4 cloves
  • 4 cardamoms
  • 1- inch cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp yogurt
  • 1 sprig mint leaves
For Rice
  • 400 grams basmati rice
  • water for soaking
For Dal
  • 75 grams tur dal/split red gram
  • 300 ml water
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
For Chicken dal pulao
  • 1 big onion thinly sliced
  • 5 or 6 green chilies
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • a pinch turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • salt as needed
  • 825 ml water
  • 1 tsp ghee/clarified butter
  • 2 sprigs mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
For Serving
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp oil
  • a pinch salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 lemon
Instructions
Marinating Chicken
  1. take chicken into a mixing bowl.
  2. add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger garlic paste, mint leaves, yogurt and mix well.
  3. leave it for one hour.
Soaking Basmati Rice
  1. take 400 grams of Basmati Rice and soak in water for 30 to 45 minutes.
  2. later rinse for 2-3 times before you cook.
Cooking Dal
  1. take 75 grams of Tur Dal and rinse for 2-3 times.
  2. put them in a pressure pan, add water, turmeric powder and pressure cook up to 5 or 6 whistles.
  3. leave till the pressure is gone.
  4. make dal into a fine paste.
  5. add enough salt, 825 ml of water in dal, mix well and keep aside.
Cooking Chicken dal pulao
  1. heat a heavy bottomed non-stick vessel, add 5 or 6 tbsp of oil, bay leaves.
  2. add thinly sliced onions, green chilies and sauté until soft.
  3. add a pinch of turmeric powder, a little salt,1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
  4. add chicken marinade, mix well and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until the chicken is perfectly cooked.
  5. add garam masala, mix for once, pour DAL water.
  6. add mint leaves, chopped coriander, ghee/clarified butter, mix well and bring the water to boil.
  7. when the water starts to boil, add soaked basmati rice and wait till the water starts to boil.
  8. when the water starts to boil, turn the heat to simmer and cook till the rice is perfectly cooked.
Recipe Notes

Serving break 2 eggs into a bowl and beat until fluffy. heat a pan and pour the beaten eggs into an omelet. sprinkle oil, salt, and pepper. transfer the omelet to a serving plate, put some rice on it and serve hot.
