Health Mix powder

It is very important to give Protein rich food for growing children.I prepared this health mix powder recipe using Nuts, cereals and pulses. This powder is a healthy and nutritious powder for kids. My daughter was born underweight (1.4 kg). she wasΒ very weak and had no growth. we were so much worried about her. but after 6 months when we started feeding her with solids..my mother prepared this powder for her grand-daughter. she used to make porridge with that powder and feed her regularly. for the first few days she rejected the porridge. but slowly she started eating it.

Proteins are the building blocks of our body.keeps immune system strong,We need 0.8 g of protein per kilogram of our body weight. and this recipe is rich in PROTEINS and mineral MAGNESIUM.Sesame seeds are very good source of CALCIUM.It is a perfect diet for growing children.

You can use this powder in different ways. if you want use this for a toddler , you can prepare porridge with this powder.or you can prepare laddus by adding some sugar and ghee/clarified butter. or you can use dates syrup to make laddus to make it more healthier. To know how to prepare porridge with this health mix powder, click on the following link Making porridge with Health Mix Powder.

      Hi Chytanya
please don’t use this health mix powder until she gets rid of constipation.it’s okay if she doesn’t poo for a day or two days.but if it is happening continuously then you should definitely consult a doctor.he may give a laxative drug.everything gets cleared.but that’s not the solution for her problem.
WHAT WE EAT IS WHAT WE ARE.so the problem may repeat again.you need to make a fresh start in feeding process.first consult a doctor.make sure that every thing is clear.for the next two days don’t give heavy solid foods.feed her with ripen bananas(natural laxative) and low fat milk.then slowly start regular solid food.give her sufficient water.Maybe her bowel movements aren’t normal.massage her body(belly part) before bath.and she needs a little exercise too.if still she is crawler, throw a ball and ask her to bring. My daughter started exercising at age 3.till today she does 10 sets of SUN SALUTATIONS everyday.
change doesn’t happen overnight. So please be patient.it may take one month for everything to be normal.then you can feed her with health mix powder.i have posted the recipe for porridge with this powder.this is the link http://www.foodvedam.com/porridge-with-health-mix-powder/. I Hope my suggestions might help you…. πŸ™‚

Hi Rehana!i’m using this for my daughter since she was 10 months old…..i didn’t face any problems.but i think it depends on the digestive capacity of a kid.so i strongly recommend you to consult your pediatrician before feeding.
and you need to prepare porridge with this powder.

Hi Prerna!you are welcome! This health mix keeps healthy and active.also helps to boost immunity.why are you so worried about the weight?is he an underweight boy?…You don’t need to think if he is in normal weight.my daughter used to be like a skeleton…..i changed her diet( one boiled egg, milk, carrots, bananas and porridge with health mix everyday)…and made her to do exercises(from age 3) regularly. they will get tired and feel hungry after doing exercises… so they will take whatever you give….and one more thing…it is not important how much food you give but how much(nutrients) the body is able to absorb…being a mother i can suggest you some foods that may help
1.start with 1 cup of full fat milk.
      2.one boiled egg(sprinkle little pepper)
      3.bananas help much.
      4.porridge.
      5.yogurt.
      6.proper sleep.

nothing happens in a day…please be patient…you can see better results…
hope my suggestions may help you and i’m really sorry for the delay….. πŸ™‚

I prepare this a little differently adding extra pulses, rice and wheat as well. But I make very small batches say 50gm but it’s very tideous to prepare every other month πŸ™ my baby is 1.8 yrs and we never went to hospital except for his vaccines. Thanks to my gud frnd she taught me this recipe πŸ™‚ I also add kesar during winters it helps further digestion . Good effort.

Hi, Meenakshi. you can give this to your baby if started feeding with solids.anyway, i strongly recommend you to consult the pediatrician before using. this food is not easily digestible. so please give only once in a day that too when the baby feels very hungry.start with very less quantity..like 1 tbsp…you can gradually increase up to 3 tbsp after 1 1/2 year.

Hi, Aparna.I have never tried it adding to the wheat flour.anyway, don’t mix nuts, cardamom, and urad dal if you want to try.

and I really want to tell you that, all the kids behave alike.my daughter used to hide under the bed for hours to avoid this porridge.and she used to vomit up if I try to give her forcefully.I don’t understand why children don’t like any food that tastes good to us.but I never gave up.I tried and tried and succeeded finally.now my daughter is 13 years old and she likes it very much.I started giving it from 1 and 1/2 years.finally, at the age of 3, she started to like it gradually, after avoiding sesame seeds.she doesn’t like sesame seeds.but they are a rich source of calcium.so I started giving them in the form of spice powder with dosa and idli.

so try to give her when she feels extremely hungry.they(kids) will take anything when they feel too hungry.start with very less quantity, like 2 to 3 tbsp porridge and gradually increase the qty.

Hi, Anna.you can add quinoa(powder) but I’m not sure of Chia seeds.they may become like jellies after making the porridge.I usually take the chia seeds mixed with buttermilk only.
